Mackayla's Baptism

Mackayla got baptized! Such a special event.
Here are some pictures Jared and I took of her beforehand in her new white dress.

Here are some pictures of the actual baptism day.

We were so grateful to have so many people to share this happy day with. Mackayla had both sets of Grandparents there, the Nelsons, Aunt Lori and Uncle David, Julie and Michael Anne, Chelsea and Katie, The Gibbons (our home teachers), the Gouldings (Mackayla's primary teachers),  Bishop and Sister Rencher, and Sister Kartchner (the primary president).
I asked Mackayla what are a few things she remembers about her baptism (now 2 months later.)
She said it felt like there were two Sundays in a row with all the baptism festivities on Saturday. The water was a tiny bit cold, but not too bad. There were a lot of hands on her head when she received the Holy Ghost.

Afterwards, family came over for some lunch.

Max and Katie :)
Mackayla got a scripture bag from her parents.
And her first scriptures from Grandpa and Grandma.
That evening both sets of grandparents joined us for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was such a special day, and we are so proud of Mackayla and the decision she made to be baptized. She worked hard to prepare herself for this day, and even read the the entire Book of Mormon with her parents. We know she'll continue to make us proud as she makes many more great decisions in her life. We love you Mackayla!
