Easter

Saturday evening we colored eggs. The Nelsons came over and joined us for that activity.
Caitlin loved it.

The whole group
This picture is out of order but I'm ok with that. This is Easter evening. All wearing their new spring shirts.
After coloring eggs on Saturday night, we had baths and then Caitlin had her first hair cut. We just had to cut off the original clumps of hair that were much longer than all the newer thicker hair. She looked much less straggly afterwards.

Sunday morning we all loved eating our colored eggs for breakfast.
Caitlin had fun digging through her basket that morning.
Bradley showing off his windmill from his basket.
Mackayla checking out her basket
Jacob enjoying a piece of chocolate from his basket.

What a fun morning!
The Easter Baskets before the kids dug in.
Since our church wasn't until 1:30, we had the whole morning to enjoy, so we had our Easter Egg Hunt shortly after breakfast. Jared and Caitlin hid all the eggs.

Then it was finally time to get dressed in our Easter best and head to church.
Here is Bradley looking so very handsome in his new shirt and tie.
Mackayla looked beautiful!
Our lovely little lady!
And finally, our good looking little man, Jacob.
I know I'm biased, but I certainly think that is best looking group of people I've ever seen. Even with the funny faces in some of the pictures. :)

Mackayla really wanted her and Caitlin to wear the Easter hats. They are so cute!
Happy Easter!
After dinner, we enjoyed a nice ham dinner by ourselves. We tried inviting lots of people, but they all had plans. We had a great time with just ourselves though. It was a wonderful weekend and we are always so grateful for the chance to reflect on the message of Easter!

March

It's hard to even remember what we did the whole month of March so I'll just go off of the pictures we took.

The boys love to shave with their daddy.
Mackayla and Bradley had a sleepover one Friday night.
Always fun to have a tea party! Mackayla loves having a little sister. And Jacob is always a good sport too.
Front row seats for her show
Jared is trying out his new cot.
Caitlin loves playing with her babies.
We had a fun time with St. Patrick's Day. Caitlin is waiting for her green breakfast.
Here are the cooks, preparing all the green food.
Breakfast is served!
The kids lined up their animals and took this picture of them.
We went to church and then came home for a green dinner.
After that was the annual scavenger hunt for the gold.
Caitlin was helping on the hunt also.
Found a clue in the pantry.
At last, there it was, on the deck!

One morning the boys were pretending to be dogs and drinking water from bowls. Caitlin wanted to join right in. She loved sticking her face in the water and would laugh every time.

Once we got the Easter decorations out, Caitlin was very busy saying hi to all the bunnies around the house.
Mackayla's class was learning about careers and they had to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grow up. Mackayla dressed as a ballerina.
Caitlin also loves her Elmos.
Bradley made this cute bunny mask at preschool.
March did give us some nice Spring weather for a bit.
The boys have just recently discovered Power Rangers and love it. They are doing samuri training on the deck in this picture.
This was the first time I put Caitlin in the swing. She was a little nervous and wouldn't let go, but she smiled the whole time.

Now she just loves her swing and always wants to be in it.
Jared went on the same mountain biking trip that he went on last Spring with some friends from work. He left early Thursday morning and got back Sunday afternoon. Of course, we all know I hate it when he's gone, but we stayed busy and it went by pretty fast.
Here is a self-portrait we took of ourselves while he was gone. It took lots of tries to get us all in but we finally did it.

Now, I'll let him write a little bit about his trip.

This is a 100 mile trail called "The White Rim" down in Canyon Lands National Park outside of Moab. Truly one of the most spectacular trails in America. We started Thursday after driving down, and broke the 100 mile stretch into 4 days. This was much more manageable than the 3 days we did it in last year. We all had a great time riding, enjoying the scenery, eating, and throwing horse shoes. Weather was great Thursday and Friday, but turned very cold Friday night through Sunday. It wasn't too bad during the day, but the nights were below freezing. Burr! Good memories!

Thank you Melissa for being a trooper and taking care of the house and kids while I was off playing, and thank you kiddos for taking care of mommy! I missed you guys!
