Temple Square in the Spring

I've been dying to get up to Salt Lake to see Temple Square while all the spring flowers are still in bloom. It's so beautiful! We had a wedding reception to go to at the Lion House last night, so it was the perfect time to get to walk around the temple grounds. I always take way too many pictures of things, but with such beautiful flowers and beautiful kids, I couldn't help myself.

The wedding reception we went to was for Spencer's brother Taylor, so we got to visit with Ashley and her family again. Mackayla was having a great time playing with Sophie.

And for other news...
Last summer Jared grew the handlebar mustache, but this summer he's going for just a classy goatee. It probably won't get him as many comments, but I think its a little better look now that he's a big wig estimator.

We had some great weather this weekend and enjoyed some time playing in the sprinklers once we got the yard work done.

To cool off, Mackayla still enjoys "playing in the snow." She brings out a big pile of blankets, spreads one on the floor (it being the snow), then uses the other blankets as her coat, hat, boots and mittens. She loves playing this game of hers.
Mackayla is still the most beautiful Cinderella I've ever seen. Now when she dresses up, she always has to dance with her prince (Bradley). The next picture is of her giving her prince a kiss.

Mackayla and I thought it would be fun to make her some bows. We went to the store and picked out a few pieces of ribbon and some barrets. I actually made them after she went to bed, but she thinks she made them. I must give credit to Jared, he assisted me in the bow making process between his songs on guitar hero.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day. Jared made me breakfast and also cooked a wonderful dinner. The whole day Mackayla kept giving me big hugs and telling me "Happy Mother's Day! I love you SO much!" That was almost my favorite part of the day.
Jared and the kids gave me this beautiful basket of flowers for Mother's Day. It looks SO GOOD sitting on our front porch! I'm hoping and praying now that I can keep it alive.

We tried taking a family picture with the timer.

Mackayla and Bradley both love being in the swing, so we spend a lot of time outside taking turns in it. I love Bradley's face in this picture.

Saturday we started working on this year's garden. We got our tomatoes, peppers and walla walla onions (a new one this year) planted. Mackayla worked right by Jared's side all morning as he prepared the ground and planted the plants. Hopefully this weekend we'll get the remainder of the garden ready to plant seeds for the rest of the crops.
Ashley and Sophie have been in town this last week. We met them up in Murray this weekend and went to a litte farm the community has. We had a great time looking at all the farm animals.

Our Guitar Heros

One of Jared's graduation gifts was the nintendo game "guitar hero." He's been having a lot of fun playing it especially since he's had this last week off. On Saturday Mackayla kept saying she wanted to play but needed her own guitar. It was pretty sad and finaly Jared suggested we go look at the dollar store for a guitar. They didn't have one, so we went next door to the second-hand children's store to look. They didn't have many toys on this particular day, but AMAZINGLY we found this little guitar for only $2.00 that really makes music. It was our lucky day. Anyway, Mackayla spent much of the day standing right next to Jared playing her guitar. As soon as he picks up his guitar, she runs and gets hers and is right by his side.

Photo Album

Here are just a bunch of photos of fun times we had with all our visitors last week...

Grandpa Hatfield ready to drive home with sleeping Bradley in his arms

ATTENTION: This was just a joke. The car was still parked. We would never allow Bradley to travel like this, nor would Grandpa be willing to drive like this. Our kids are ALWAYS in their carseats.

Giddy up!!
The kids loved having their cousins Jaden and Logan around. It was fun to have Bradley and Logan (only 4 days apart) together.

Jaden was excited to get to go to school with Mackayla one day

Grandpa had to leave a few days before his birthday so Mackayla wanted a chance to sing to him and help him blow out a candle

We had such a great time with everyone. We hope you're planning to come again soon!!
