Caitlin turns 1!

This last year has flown by! We love our little Caitlin! She turned one and we had a great time celebrating! Here she is, enjoying all the birthday excitement.
Posing with her presents
And posing with her cake.
Grandma and Grandpa Hatfield got to come for her birthday. We went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse first.

Caitlin enjoyed the food.
They even brought her out some icecream.
Then home to open presents
Bradley and Jacob picked out this ball at the store to give to Caitlin.

Daddy and Mommy gave her this new chair that she loves.
Time for the lady bug cake!
Mackayla saw some pictures of baby's birthday parties with the high chair decorated, so she decided she would do that for Caitlin.
I'm sure I'm posting way too many pictures of her eating her cake, but its just so fun.
She loved digging in, but wasn't actually too interested in eating it.

She figured out, though, that it was fun to stick some into her brothers' mouths.

All done!
Bradley and Grandma, in their orange, after the party.
Helping dad put together her new bike from Grandma and Grandpa. She picked up the screwdriver and jumped right in.
So much fun!
The kids pushed her all around the house for days before we finally moved it outside.
~Caitlin at 1~
She is such a happy, sweet, and loving little girl. She loves to give hugs and kisses. She adores her sister and brothers, and is certainly never lacking in receiving love and affection from this family. Everyone loves her so much and her siblings (and her dad and mom) just can't get enough of her. The kids are always saying that she's cuter than anything else in the world, and even cuter than herself! She's running all over the place and does a good job keeping up with the other kids. She's really wanting to talk, and babbles all the time as if she's really saying something. She does say, Dada, Mama, night-night, bye bye, uh-oh, and tries to say so many other things. She loves baby dolls and whatever toy her brothers or sister are holding at the moment. She loves looking at books and being outside.
First birthday parties are always bitter-sweet. It's so sad that she's not my little baby anymore, but so fun to watch her grow and learn. She makes us all so happy and we are so very grateful for the blessing of having her in our family!

Caitlin and Grandma
Everyone with Grandpa and Grandma just before they left. Jacob didn't want to be in the picture so we just got the back side of him. :) We were so glad they were able to be there. It makes everything so much more fun to have family to share it with.
I forgot to serve these on Caitlin's party so we had them the next day... lady bug appetizers.
Reading with Grandpa.
Grandpa and Grandma actually came into town for a few days, then headed down to Las Vegas for a few days, and then came back in time for Caitlin's party. These pictures are from the first weekend that they were here.
We finally checked out the new store Scheels, and rode the ferris wheel.

Lots of fun places to take pictures at the store...

Mackayla had a very loose tooth that had been loose for a long time. She wouldn't let anyone touch it though. When Grandpa got into town, she decided she would let him pull it since he's a dentist and knows just how to do it so it wouldn't hurt. It worked perfectly, and out it came!
Mackayla reading to Caitlin one Sunday afternoon.
The girls snuggled up on the couch together one morning.
We spent one Saturday cleaning up the front yard and spreading some new mulch.
Jacob was looking good, shoveling in his underwear. We all wish we could get away with this, right?
Working hard.

April Fools Day and Spring Break

April Fools Day was the first day of Spring Break. Easter was the day before, and we were leaving in just a couple days for a trip down to Arizona, so we didn't have the energy to do any spectacular jokes this year. However, the kids were pulling April Fools jokes all day. I think I was told at least 50 times that there was a shark on my head. It was such a scary day!
The kids had been planning for weeks to take Daddy lunch and actually use plastic food. We ended up meeting Jared for lunch that day and boy did they fool him!

We did get to have a funny time at dinner. The kids didn't think it was funny at all that I served just Cheetos for dinner (at first). They thought it was great.

We had left overs from Easter dinner but everyone had to use their funny utensils and plates.

Bradley was in charge of treat that night for Family Home Evening. He served brownies or I should say Brown E's. Mackayla thought this was so funny.
Then he served mashed potatoes and gravy (ice cream and caramel sauce)
This wasn't anything funny, but they made little stick puzzles of the themselves that night for the upcoming road trip.
Jared and Caitlin brought down their pajamas that night. They got them all mixed up!
The kids had a great time just hanging out and playing together the first couple days of spring break.
Here, the ladies that live in this doll house are tying to get the transformers out of their house!

The kids playing the computer together.

We left Wednesday afternoon and drove down to Arizona. We got in about 2am. I don't think we want to do that drive all night thing anymore. We were so exhausted the next day, and all the kids ended up being awake that last hour or so of the drive anyway.
We tried going swimming at the Pulver's pool, but it was very cold water! So we didn't last long.

Saying hi to Grandma
Jared took us to lunch at Pete's fish and chips. He loves this place & wishes there were one outside of Arizona!
Nini took us to the mall to ride on the carousel.

Enjoying the fountain
In front of an all green tree (Palo Verde).
Filling out some conference packets
They love going to the playground when we're down there.

Getting ready to leave. We headed out Saturday evening and drove part way. We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer.
Here is a picture of our sexy driver taking us home!!
We were trying to get Caitlin to start drinking cow's milk, and the kids thought it was so fun to hold her while she drank a bottle.
Our pretty girl is getting so big!
