Mackayla Turns Eight

Happy Birthday Mackayla!
She wanted to have a garden party and flowery cake.
We just had a party with our family on her birthday and then had another little one the next day, Saturday.
Our Beautiful Eight Year Old!
She wanted blueberry pancakes with homemade syrup for her birthday dinner.
Getting ready for presents

Daddy and Jacob at the party
She finally got some of the Callico Critters that she's had her eyes on for years.

The next day the Nelsons and her friend Daphne, from school, came over for some more birthday fun.

They got to make their own flower cupcakes.
More presents
Mackayla at 8:
Mackayla is still the sweetest girl! She does such a good job of helping her Mom when she's home and takes excellent care of her little sister. She's does really well in school. She never wants to go in the mornings but always comes home happy and says she had a great day. She finally decided to take a break from gymnastics but is still doing Dance at the Legacy Center. She's also been taking some piano lessons from her mom and swimming lessons from her dad. She still loves the color pink! She doesn't like going to bed but always gets in a silly mode at bed time. She loves to read, especially the fairy books she checks out of the library and Calvin and Hobbes. She's always full of fun and excitement! We love our little Mackayla!!

When the Nelson's came for her birthday, they also brought some presents from the family down in Arizona. Jason sent a box with hundreds of cars (well over 200) to the boys. They got them all sorted into colors that first night.
I just wanted to gather some of the treasures I have that Grandma Davenport had given me over the years. I have so many wonderful things to remember her by.
Some quilts and afgans that she made me.
Our dryer quick working the day before we left on our Christmas trip. It took a while, once we got back, to figure out if we should get a new one or try to fix it. We ended up buying one on KSL, but in the meantime, we had to figure out a way to dry somethings.
I had a horrible migrain one morning. I barely got the kids to school and then threw up the second I got back home. I told Caitlin I was sick and needed to lay down and she did such a great job of taking care of me after that. She brought me a blanket and a baby to play with. :)

Cute girls in curlers!
This was part of Caitlin's bed time routine for a while. She would kiss all of her babies goodnight and make sure they were tucked in.
And sometimes lay down with them.
Super girls!
Elmo!
