Our nephew Mitchell passed away on September 2nd after fighting so bravely for over two years with brain cancer. We headed up to Yakima that week to be with our family and to attend his funeral. The service was wonderful and something I will never forget. In the middle of such a hard time, Chad and Amy both spoke of hope, gratitude, and happiness. We will miss Mitchell so much but the things we learned from him and his family have changed us all and we will never be the same. We are so grateful for our Heavenly Father's wonderful plan of salvation and that FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!
Mitchell's favorite color is yellow so we all had it on that day.
I didn't get any group pictures but wanted to remember that all our family was there together.
I borrowed this picture from facebook- sorry April didn't make it in but she looked lovely in her yellow also.

Some of Mitchell's favorite things
His cousins sang "I Wonder When He Comes Again" at the service. This was the practice beforehand.
After the service and luncheon the Trees invited us all out to their place to spend more time together celebrating Mitchell's life. Everyone wrote a message to Mitchell and we released them all together, except for Jacob. He wasn't ready to let go of his balloon. After awhile though, he finally let his balloon fly.

Just before the balloon release the sky turned yellow. It was pretty cool.
The following weekend was "Mitchell's Day." His family wanted to hold a special day of service in his honor in order to share his smile and make this world a better place because of him. We cleaned up the neighborhood and had a great experience serving together.
My cousin Julie and her kids joined us also.
Jacob got tired of picking up garbage but found a way to keep serving. He kept the sun off of Caitlin for us.
We love you Mitchell!!
