April

Easter fell on General Conference this year, so they wore their new Easter clothes the week before. They all looked so adorable, so I had to take a million pictures of them.

Spencer and Ashley went to Italy for a week, so Papa and Nini came to stay with their kids. We got to spend a lot of time with them that week, and it was so much fun. We had a fun April Fools dinner. They loved their crazy utensils and jello drink, and were overjoyed to hear that the mashed potatoes and gravy were for dessert.
On Saturday before Easter we all colored eggs together, and then had a fun egg hunt.

On Easter morning, after our baskets, we packed up and headed out of town for Spring break. Jared needed to get things going in Yakima and get his office set up. Rather than being apart for 4 weeks, we decided to all go for the spring break, and then Jared would bring us back and head up there again. We stopped in Murray on the way out and had an Easter breakfast with the Nelsons and Papa and Nini, and watched the morning session of conference.

A few other pictures from the week. The cousins all got to watch a movie one night. I had to take a picture of Jared and Papa because they were laughing much more than any of the kids at those silly minions! Sophie got to have a sleepover with Mackayla one night.

We encountered some bears on our drive to Yakima. Once we got to Yakima, we checked out the acre lot that we had just purchased to build a house on before too long. Jared got his office set up in the bedroom that we'll be staying in. We're planning on making his next office a little less "frilly."

These were some things that happened during the end of March and beginning of April as we were getting ready for all of the big changes. Jared got his Toyota all fixed up and ready to sell. He sold it right away. I took a picture of Jared leaving on his last day of work at Maglebys. Since he had to turn in his truck we had to pick him up so I also was able to take a picture of him leaving the office for the last time. He loved that. :)

This is what Jared wrote on facebook:
As one chapter closes, another begins. It is with conflicting emotions that I close my chapter at Magleby Construction. I have spent the last 8 years learning from some of the best Builders in the construction industry. I have chosen to follow my dreams, take a leap of faith, and relocate my family to Washington State where I have established my own company, Copper Hills Construction. I intend to emulate the endless pursuit of perfection and craftsmanship that I have learned during my time at Magleby. I am grateful for all the memories and experiences I have enjoyed.
We celebrated that evening and then kept on moving forward. Jared purchased a new truck.

The Holts came through town on their spring break, and stayed with us for a night. Jared had his first official meeting with clients for Copper Hills. After 15 years in Utah, we decided we couldn't leave without hiking the Y at least once. We joined the Holts for that fun excursion.
