Bradley turns 8

Bradley wanted a Halloween party this year for his birthday. He got to start his day off with a "panage" (a sausage covered in pancake.)
He wasn't super excited to get to spend the day at school, but was very happy that his dad came for lunch and brought him a subway sandwich.

His birthday was on a Thursday night, so we decided to have his party with his cousins the next night so we could party later. So, that night we had a quiet party with our family. Grandpa, Grandma, and Heather joined us at Panda Express (he got all his favorite foods throughout the day) for dinner. Then we came home for a few presents.
Caitlin is giving her "biggest smile" in this picture.

He got a new bike for his birthday since he had long outgrown his old bike.

Such a handsome birthday boy!

I was going to make his big cake for the party the next night but I had half of a round ball cake extra, so I turned it into a small pumpkin cake for that night.

The next day, Caitlin, Grandma, and I got ready for the big party. The Halloween theme was perfect while we were staying at Grandma's house since she has an entire warehouse supply of Halloween stuff downstairs in her storage. Caitlin helped put these treat baskets together for all of the kids.

Bradley searched Pinterest for a Halloween cake, and this is the one he wanted.

:) Here are a few glimpses of his personality...

We had some root beer and everyone got to make little pizzas to look like monsters.
It was so exciting, waiting for them to come out of the oven.

Then after pizza we went downstairs for a Halloween dance party. They all loved the black light and the strobe light.

Bradley and Jackson got to open some presents. Jackson's birthday is next week, but we won't see him so we celebrated his birthday too. Some highlights of the gifts- Bradley got a pocket knife, some books he loves, a glow in the dark marble track to build, Legos, a Kinect game and a few other little items. He was very pleased. :)
Cake time!

The Chamy Hatfields got a new puppy this month. The kids are all a huge fan of Cosmo!

Bradley is still as sweet as ever. He loves reading, swimming, riding his bike, playing soccer with Dad, Nerf guns, and always loves playing with his siblings. He still struggles a little with the move this year and being a little homesick. He's doing great in his new school for 2nd grade though. His teacher called us at the beginning of the year and said they had just finished their beginning testing and Bradley is reading above a 9th grade level. She was concerned about being able to give him what he needs since he's so far above the rest of the class. She has ordered new books for her classroom though, just for him. He's now reading the Percy Jackson series and loving them. He's been working hard, preparing for his baptism. He has been working this year on reading the entire Book of Mormon and will be done before his baptism at the end of the month.  He still adores Caitlin and is such a great big brother for her. He also looks out for Jacob at school, too. They don't get to see each other much, but are able to run together for mileage club twice a week. He finally lost his first two teeth this summer, and has a couple more that are pretty loose now. We are so grateful to have Bradley, and love him so much!
