Spring Break~Zions National Park

Jared didn't have any time off of work, but we took a quick weekend trip down to Zion's National Park at the beginning of spring break. We went down Friday afternoon and stayed at a condo in St. George that Jared's friend let us use. The best part was that Papa and Nini drove up and met us there!! We don't get to spend enough time with family, so it was such a great treat that they were able to join us! Saturday morning we drove over to Zion's and did a couple of hikes. The first hike was the scary ridge hike (aka The Canyon Overlook Trail). It was listed as easy, but ended up being a bit more of a hike than we expected. The kids LOVED it though. They took off and were in the lead the entire time, telling us all to hurry up.

Caitlin rode in the backpack all the way up. She was determined to walk back down herself though.

We took a ton of pictures at the top. The view was spectacular in every direction!

The kids were having a great time feeding the chipmunks peanuts from their trail mix.

This picture makes me sick to my stomach, but it wasn't as bad as it looks. She was standing right at the inside corner, where I was in the picture above.

After that hike, we enjoyed a little picnic lunch.
Then, we rode the shuttle up to the Emerald Pools trail. It was a much easier hike, but we were definitely getting tired by the end of it.

Mackayla was so tired, she had to take a nap on a rock.

We got back to St. George that evening in time for the men to go to the priesthood session. Afterwards, we played some Uno.
Sunday, the kids built a fort while we watched conference.
We headed home that evening. It was a super fun weekend.

The first two words above were the code words to get my comment published. Guess I put them in the wrong place!
