April Fools and Heather

We had a very nice visit from Heather this last week during her spring break. She was here for April fools day and got to join in our fun. Jared went with some friends on a four day bike trip to the white rim. He got home in time for dinner on April Fools day. I was so glad Heather came to help me out while he was gone.  Heather and I made some dessert for the kids. We had the Nelsons and LeSueurs over that evening, and then had Jared tell the kids that there wasn't enough cake for them so they had to eat dirt and worms.

My kids knew this was just an April Fools joke, but were still a little hesitant at first and grossed out when Jared ate one of the worms. They keep laughing about how Daddy said the worms weren't so bad when you got past the slimy part.

We had the regular April Fools spaghetti dinner with funny plates and utensils.

Jacob wanted to try out everyone's utensils, and was quite a mess by the end of dinner.

That morning we had yummy waffles with strawberries for breakfast before General Conference began. I put a small glass of juice on the table for everyone, and then called them over to eat. The kids all immediately picked up their glassed for a drink of orange juice, but were very confused when the juice wouldn't come out. I had frozen the juice in their glasses the night before, and it turned out to be a very funny joke.

Bradley is looking into his juice with bewilderment, wondering why it didn't go into his mouth.

Mackayla laughing once she figured out what was going on.

Jacob was trying one more time, with some frustration, to get a drink of his juice.

Jared had the camera by him the other night for family home evening, and took a few pictures. This is Bradley leading the music.

I had the talent for the night, and performed a lovely number called, "Dancing with the Baby."

After I was done, the kids just had to try this and all put a ball under their shirts and danced while shaking their bellies around.

Mackayla loves to hold up the baby's outfits and see how they are going to fit. She holds them upside down on my belly since that is the way the baby is positioned.

Bradley had to give her a couple lessons on light saber fighting.

Heather's iTouch, loaded with games, is always a great source of entertainment.
