First day at a new school! They were only a little nervous. Mostly excited to start the new school year off. It was nice that they got to go to a back to school night the night before and meet their teachers, see their classroom and look around the school. Cottonwood Elementary is a much smaller school than Snow Springs was. There were about 1200 students at their old school, k-6th grade. There are only a little over 400 students at this school, k-4th grade. That made it even less scary.
Our 4th grader!
First day of second grade!
Ready to go
Waiting in line to go in. I was so nervous for them and was really hoping they would make friends quickly. Right after this picture was taken the kid in front of Bradley, Sean, started talking to him and they became friends right away. Sean had also just moved here and was new to the school. He played with him that day at recess and have been great friends since. That was fast. :)
Mackayla in line. She was brave enough at recess that first day to ask a girl in her class if she wanted to play. Her and Yasmin played together most recesses after that. I was so glad to hear they didn't have to feel too alone the first few days at a new school.
I had been dreading having to send Jacob to all day Kindergarten all summer. It was so great that Kindergartners only had one day of school that first week and I could have him home for another couple of days. As each one starts school, it's never the same. I miss having these two home together during the days.
First day of kindergarten! He was so excited but I was counting down the hours until I could go get him!! The first day only half of the class came so that it could be a small group as the teacher introduced them to the new routines of school. The rest of the class was there the day before.
Ready to go.
And today was also Caitlin's first day of Mommy School for this new year!
Jacob
LOVED kindergarten, but was ready to unwind after it was over. I let
him in the car and by the time I got to my seat, he had already stripped
down to just his shorts. It's hard staying dressed all day long! :)
Some more pictures from August
For some reason the other kids didn't want to come out but Caitlin, Jared and I had fun jumping on the trampoline with a sprinkler one afternoon.
On the morning of Heather's birthday, the kids brought her some breakfast and sang happy birthday to here.

Jacob, Bradley, and Mackayla did a couple of weeks of swimming lessons at the end of July. Bradley was actually sick most of the first week so he just had one weeks worth. They had a great time and really enjoyed it.
Swimming with cousins in Grandma's pool
Slurpees from Burger King
We did an end of the summer hike to Boulders Cave with the Holts
They loved playing in the water at the waterfall.
We walked all the way back along the water at the bottom. Everyone had a great time.
