Spring in Arizona

We went to AZ to enjoy the weather, take a break from the snow, celebrate my mom & brother's birthdays, and attend the wedding of a couple of old high school friends. It was great!

Mackayla LOVES to sleep in this little blow-up princess bed! Papa & Nini took the kids to the playground at the school next to their house while Melissa and I went to my friends' wedding. After returning home, they were so covered with sand that they had to rinse off in addition to cleaning a hot wheels truck they had found. Bradley took full advantage of having control of the water hose...

Jake has recounted to us many, many time since returning how Papa took him for a ride on the swings.

There is an area of Mesa that was originally a separate little town called Lehi. The first weekend of March they have a rodeo and other activities called Lehi Days. The kids loved it (except Jacob - he was too tired and crashed out at Papa & Nini's. Melissa stayed there and watched him.)

Our little tween - oh wait, she's only 5!

Jason's birthday breakfast. Happy 28th!

Whipped cream with waffles and strawberries

Outside, enjoying the weather - it was gorgeous!

Thankfully, we were able to soak up all the nice weather before we left, because on the way home we got stuck on the freeway just outside of Beaver, UT in a snow storm. UDOT shut down the road, and we were stuck just over an hour waiting for the plows to clear the way. Luckily, we had Toy Story 3 and the DVD player to keep the kids occupied. They really did a wonderful job traveling both ways - what cute little road warriors!

Yeah for a warm-weather vacation! My sister lives in Beaver, so I know what a happening place it is and I'm sure you were thrilled to be stuck there:)

A trip to the warm sunshine sounds pretty nice to me! The kids look awesome sporting their shades, and you're right Mackayla is starting to look much older. What a pretty lady she is!
