Our Little Cinderella

Mackayla's new favorite movie is Cinderella. We've tried to get her to watch some of the other disney movies and see the other "princesses," but she has no interest in watching any of them. All day long she wants to watch Cinderella and is always singing the cinderella song. The line she sings over and over again is "Cinderelli, Cinderelli, night and day it's Cinderelli."

I've been trying to figure out why she likes Cinderella so much, and I think I've figured it out... she feels like she can relate to cinderella. Mackayla spends a lot of her time helping her mommy with chores around the house!

She Aims To Please...

Mackayla always wants to please the people she loves.

She's been having her mommy teach her how to play dominoes so that when she sees Grandpa Jones she can play with him. She also knows there is no better way to get on Great Grandpa Jones' good side than to become a hard core BYU fan. You can tell by her drink holder that she wants Grandpa Hatfield to know that she is also cheering for the Big Red!

Mother/Daughter

This is Mackayla wearing the same outfit that I was wearing in the other picture. I was only 11 months old in mine. Mackayla is 20 months. There doesn't seem to be any resemblance at all. When my face started to thin out around age two though, you can see much more of Mackayla's mother in her.

He's on his way!

With just over a month until out little boy arrives, we're starting to wonder what the little guy will look like.

Will he be a little blonde baby like his father???

Or a big chuncky, dark haired baby like his mother????

Good Ol' Dad

Mackayla loves to help out with everything. She always wants Daddy to hold her as he mows the lawn. Its her way of making things easier for him, cause you know otherwise he'd get really lonely mowing all by himself.

Today when after Jared got home from a long day of work, he was in Mackayla's room playing with her while I was preparing dinner. After a while Mackayla came into the kitchen and I asked her where Daddy was. She said "he's sleeping." I went in to check and sure enough he was completely asleep. Looks like they had been having a good time though before he fell asleep.

A visit from the Hatfields

This past week my dad, mom, Heather, and Buffy were able to come and visit us. It was so nice to have company during the days while Jared was at work. Mackayla of course LOVED having them here as well. We had a lot of fun and they helped me get things in order in both Mackayla's room and the new baby's room.

Mackayla has been wanting to pick out and put on her own clothes a lot lately. She was wondering if her cousin Jaden would like to go into the fashion business together when they get a little older.

Eating some popcorn with Grandpa and Grandma

While everyone was here we were able to go to Jared's summer work party. We had a wonderful, all expense paid evening at Seven Peaks water park.

Jared and I went out to a movie one night and Mackayla went out with her Grandparents and Heather. They discovered she loves to eat tacos from tacobell. She's been talking about the tacos ever since.

Only three years ago...

It was three years ago this week that Jared proposed to me. Amazing how time flies!

Now almost two kids later, I'm sure it was the best decision he ever made! (mine too!)

Speaking of the approaching second child, we are accepting any ideas for a name for this little boy. Please feel free to post a comment and give us some suggestions.
